burning into spring

After a good afternoon of cooking the wind has finally died down enough to burn all of last summer's grasses. New growth is hidden under the cover of winter debris and Lily watches intently as each clump explodes into flame. Even though we 'sprang' ahead today, it's still light after 7 - yeah.

Gusty winds on this warm Saturday morning. Getting ready to burn all of last year's ornamental grasses so that new growth can emerge, but it's a little too windy to undertake today. Daffodils and daylilies are up. Isn't spring wonderful.
